SOUND LEVEL METERS
IN THE WireLess WorLd
In December 1901 Marconi transmitted a radio signal
from the west coast of England across the Atlantic
to
St. John’s in Newfoundland, a distance of 2,100 miles.
In modern times, wireless communication has replaced
cable connections little by little and has become
a key
factor in our digital age. In July
2009 the development
of a web browser functionality enhanced the Type 2250
family of hand-held analyzers with wireless communica-
tion capability. This innovative feature allows remote
access to the instrument via mobile phone, PDA, Smart
phone or PC with internet connection and can be used to
view noise levels in real-time, select settings and transfer
results.
Types 2250 Light, 2250 or 2270 just need an active
WLAN connection to the internet via 3G,
GPRS, EDGE or
GPRS router. The user enters the specific IP address
or the
location in the browser address field, and the analyzer's
keypad and display are shown on the computer screen
.
